Selecting The Perfect Basketball Goal For your Team

Selecting a basketball goal for your team can be a frustrating task. It is not easy to choose a basketball goal for a team which has players of different age and height. There are different types of basketball goals available in the market, you just have to make sure that you select the one which is suitable for all your team members.

First and foremost, you have to take into consideration the age and size of your players. Are they young and growing up or are they teenagers? Do the players of your team have relatively same height or do they vary in height. An adjustable height basketball goal is perfect for a team which consists of young players. An adjustable goal enables you to lower and elevate the basketball goal according to the height of your players. An adjustable goal also allows fair play as the goal can be adjusted according to the height of each player which enable players to give their best shot.

If your team comprises of students from high school and college, then go for fixed height basketball goals, since during competitions, official high school and college players have to play with a basketball goal that is regulation size. Hence get the fixed basketball goal which is 10 feet from the ground to the rim.

As far as backboards are concerned, a regulation size backboard measuring 42”x72” is used in high school and college competitions. And for young players, get a smaller sized backboard as they are in the initial stages of learning the game.

For long term use, it is better that you buy the best quality basketball goals. After all buying a basketball goal is a huge investment. Whether you buy fixed height or adjustable goal, the goal should be strong and sturdy enough.
